The day I arrived in Delhi was the start of the wedding season - 35,000 weddings were taking place .
- Delhi plans to be or is already the greenist city in the world - Indira Ghandi declared that for every child born in Delhi an evergreen tree would be planted. Just about every tree is evergreen .
- The layout of New Delhi, (built by the British in 1911 ) in keeping with the symetry of Hindu beliefs is a mirror image of itself.
- Population of Delhi is 16 million
- Red Fort in Old Delhi built 1639 --1648.
- Presidents Palace opens gardens to public only in Spring time.
