More on Banjaar Tola Lodge

On the way to Banjaar Tola
More along the way ....

...and more....
and the bedroom of my tent ....

..and the bathroom of my tent...

Kanha National Park

These are photos from the verandah of my tent, taken within 5 minutes of each other as the sun went down.

Bathroom amenities - the body scrub is amazing

...and so on to the next stage of the trip .
I woke at 3.15 am for a 3.45am departure for the airport.
All was going well - checkin was fine - security - well got my tiny litle nail scissors taken from me - In the states the blades of one's scissors can now be up to 4' long and I'd flown with them in my hand luggage all the way from Charlotte to Delhi - but Delhi to Jabalapur - they were confiscated. No matter ... My flight is called and I find myself telling Air ZImbabwe that all is forgiven. KingFischer Airlines flies delapidated ATR 72 with twisted propellors.. Some luggage compartments were held together with duct tape, but we couldn't land due fog - or so we were told. we circled for 40 minutes - tired a landing and aborted it - tried again and this time went much lower I felt had I been able to put my hand out the window I'd have touched the tree tops . The attempt was abort with full engine throttle, we were told the pilot couldn't see the runway . SO it was off to Nagpur for refuelling - On the third attempt we made it, 5 hours to do a 2 hour flight, followed by a 4.5 hour drive, but then there was THAT tiger waiting for me . She was the third.

More on Dubai

I managed to 'do' all that was suggested - Thx Anthony.
The souks, the Malls, Ski Dubai, Atlantis on Palm Island, The Mosque, even had an invitation to dinner - declined.

Dancing Waters at base of Burj Khalifa

Burj Al Arab 2 bedroom master suite

Bedrooms are upstairs, private butlers kitchen, own business center - even security screening will show the face of the person knocking on your front door on your TV. .and you can open the door by remote -

Burj Al Arab

More than one person in Dubai told me I couldn't take the train, or the bus, and one even told me I was too old to walk. Still figuring out if it was their polite way of saying I shouldn't try to cross the cultural barrier.
The Burj Al Arab was every bit as graceful as I have expected. - Moreover there is a culinary experience to enjoy even if not a guest where you start at the top bar with drinks and work your way down the hotel with one course after another till you have reached the bottom for desserts.

The King of the Jungle - Tiger # 3

I'm back in civilization - well I suppose all things are relative - Banjaar Tola has a better sense of a civilized life than Delhi! - Sustainable Tourism has more than just good merits .. anyhow for now I'm bubbling with excitement to share the most graceful of beasts - and then will go backwards to pick up the pieces while I was out of inernet range.
