Neville Brown - brother-in-law, brother, friend, surrogate father and a banana bacon sandwich

Thanks for the most awesome memories and more than anything else thanks for loving my sister.

Wild Cats

Serval cat - never knew till this trip that a serval has a combination of all big cat markings including cheetahs. I watched this cute creature catch a bird on the fly - must have been quicker than the croc that took a fish out of a heron's mouth and that was pretty impressive.

My favorite of all cats but then isn't it technically a member of the dog family?

...and a first for me, a caracal never seen one before - pity I haven't got a better picture of his ears - the deffinition is amazing.

Birds of Southern Africa

South Africa's National bird, The Blue Crane - The stately dowager princess of all birds.

This one's for Chloe - felted cupcakes at a Knysna market.

My next project once the blankets are finished:)

Cornerway House - A Plettenberg B and B

The owner Dee with my sister Wendy following a yummy full South African breakfast with the most amazing bread, we talked so much I never complimented you - must have been homemade.

A gardeners paradise - I've gotta make a garden tour to this parts of our world - It's like nothing you've seen anywhere else.

Sisters

Tamsin, Wendy and Vyv at Knysna Elephant Park for sunday lunch.
Myself and Buffin in Bantry Bay - Cape Town Buffin and Myself at the Whales Tail, Plettenberg Bay

..and here we are again at the Lemon Grass Restaurant

Plettenberg Bay

The indigenous Keurboom tree in full flower .
Plettenberg Bay is a spectacular part of South Africa and the garden route. Protected by the Robberg Peninsular ( a tougher hike than climbing Table Mountain), the bay is home to whales, dolphins, surfers, with amazing views and the most special people.

Plettenberg Bay - lagoon side with the Tsitsikamma (meaning 'place of much water') mountain range in the back ground.

Robberg peninsular side of Plettenberg Bay

My sister and her canoe, alas we didn't get to go to the Keurboom river or the lagoon - whenever we were free the weather was not co-operating.

Elephants

A Knysna driftwood elephant at the Saturday morning market.

Alas this was the best I could do - but then I was lucky to get this shot as it's not really safari country and the purpose of this trip was not to see more Ellies. But MG, I did manage a Beware of Elephants sign albeit a bit small but I got one!

The View and Sails restaurant at Wilderness

We dropped off our friend Jeff at George airport and made our way back to Plettenberg Bay stopping along the Wilderness coast at The View Hotel and Sails restaurant .
It was a cold and rainy day but that didn't stop us from having an amazing time as we watched paragliders and whale watched with the most amazing and in my eyes typically South African Pizza - Wendy takes it for granted - while I know you can't get pizza like this anywhere else in the world. Seriously, the pizza is more like a flatbread with unusual toppings but that suits me just fine.

This body language tells it all - there's a whale out there..

Indian coffee trees -Why dead Indian coffee trees should be imported while there are so many special indigenous ones is beyond me , but hey, it takes a world to make our world.

Emily Moon River Lodge

An amazing little place with just 8 cottages along the Bitou river. If there's not time to spend a day or two here at least stop for a meal

A hidden gem - bring binoculars!
